PREVENTION & WELLNESS

At LPHC, our focus is on preventative health care. Twice-yearly wellness exams and recommended annual bloodwork profile, heartworm/3 tick disease screening, and fecal parasite exam allow Dr. Litfin to manage health changes and detect early stages of the disease.

Preventative services will vary depending on a pet's age, lifestyle, and health status, but may include bloodwork, vaccinations, intestinal parasite testing, heartworm testing and preventative meds, flea and tick treatments, and nutritional recommendations.

Senior pets may also benefit from EKG, urinalysis, and pain assessment.

BOARDING

In the back of our facility is our "Pet Resort," this is where the TLC in Lifelong Pet Health Care comes into play the most. Our kennel and boarding space allows us to provide your pet with the best home away from home possible. When our patients stay with us, they are treated like one of our own and our whole staff has a tendency to spoil everyone just a little bit.

Dogs are walked 3-4 times daily around our spacious yard. Dogs staying two or more nights, receive a complimentary cleansing bath.

Rules

  • Currently only offered to clients

  • Boarding by advanced reservations only, (will make accommodations in event of an emergency if we have space available)

  • Dogs need the following vaccines: current bordetella, parvo-distemper, and rabies.

  • Cats need the following vaccines: current distemper and rabies vaccines.

  • Pets staying over the weekend, no Sunday or holiday pick-ups available due to front staff unavailable, so required to stay thru Monday or next business day following a holiday.

  • For pets that are past due on vaccinations, they must be brought up to date, at a minimum of 2 wks prior to boarding reservation for the health and well-being of your’s and others’ pets. (Dr. Litfin does not give all vaccines at once, for dogs she will give bordatella with either rabies or distemper. Cats will be given either rabies or distemper. A follow-up of 2 wks is required for the next vaccine to be given. So please plan accordingly.

  • If your pet received vaccines elsewhere, please be sure to provide documentation from another vet atleast 2 wks before boarding reservation or reservation will be canceled.

  • If your pet stays current on vaccines and has an approaching vaccine coming due, we will be able to give that vaccine while staying with no interruption in boarding reservation.

Please Note: We do not have dog runs, so for larger dogs, we highly recommend utilizing one of the terrific pet daycare facilities around town.

Thank you for understanding and your cooperation.
